We're urging smokers to quit now more than ever. There is emerging evidence highlighting that people who smoke are more likely than non-smokers to develop pneumonia, if they get infected with coronavirus.
Be Well Tameside is now offering their quit smoking service via phone, email and text, instead of through face-to-face appointments.
This will help to reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus, while making sure you still get the support you need to stop smoking for good.
They're also working with pharmacies and GPs to ensure you can still get any stop smoking medications you need during this time.
If you live or work in Tameside, you can get information and advice on quitting smoking by ringing 0161 716 2000 or emailing bewelltameside@nhs.net.
If you live elsewhere, please click here to find you local stop smoking service on the NHS website.
