We all have our fingers (and toes) crossed for England in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday, and we expect it to be an emotional rollercoaster whatever the result.
These are our six top tips to help with the stress:
- Get active and fit in some physical exercise today – it gives you time to clear you mind, alleviates feelings of pressure and boosts endorphins
- Keep yourself occupied with relaxing or enjoyable activities before and after the game. Talk to people about how you are feeling, and consider switching off social media if need be.
- Enjoy yourself if you’re having a drink, but remember alcohol, along with caffeine and nicotine, can increase stress levels, so maybe add a glass of water or two
- Focus on the enjoyment of England having reached and playing in the final, how well they’ve done throughout the competition. Share in the experience with whoever you’re watching with.
- Accept there are things you can’t change – ultimately the game is out of all of our control, so just try to enjoy this historical day as best you can whatever happens
- No matter the outcome, remember to look forward to next year’s World Cup!
