It wasn’t the fairy tale ending for England’s Euro 2020 campaign, and the next few days may be tough for many of us.
We can still be very proud of the England team and how well they performed. And we can hold on to the sense of pride and unity that we felt throughout the Euros.
But, it's also appalling to see sickening abuse in the aftermath. We must all continue our anti-racist stance, condemn their actions and fight all forms of discrimination.
For anyone who is struggling to come to terms with the result of final, we hope you find these tips useful:
- Talk to others about how you’re feeling and share your emotions so they can offer support
- Do relaxing comforting things like going for a walk or having a bath
- Avoid drugs or drink, they won’t help your mood in the long run and could make things worse
- Look after yourself by eating well and getting enough sleep
- Carry on with other hobbies or activities you enjoy
- Think carefully about how much time you spend on social media and watching the news, switch it off if it’s not helping
