We’re developing a new short breaks service for people aged 16 to 24 with a learning disability. It’ll be the first service of its kind in the country for this age group.
The unit will provide therapy and support for up to 12 weeks, to help people experiencing a crisis to avoid hospital.
People with a learning disability, their family and carers, and professionals are invited to come along to our event to find out more about the service and have your say on our planned building designs and layout.
When: Wednesday 2 February 2022, 12pm to 7pm (drop in anytime)
Please register your interest by emailing hollystinchon@nhs.net or phoning 0161 716 1575.
Where: Dumers Lane, Radcliffe, Bury, BL9 9UE (vacant building next to the former Bealey Community Hospital).
- By car – use the above postcode. There’s plenty of free parking
- By bus – the following buses stop near the venue – 524, 894, 899, 513, 887, 888
- By tram – the closest stop is Radcliffe (around a 15 minute walk)
What to expect: Take a tour of the building and look over our design and layout plans. Our learning disability staff and architects will be there to chat to you, answer your questions and note your feedback. You can also enjoy some light refreshments. We’ll ensure the space is covid safe.
Please wear a mask (unless exempt), sanitise your hands when you arrive and wrap up warmly as doors and windows will be open to allow good circulation. We look forward to seeing you there!
