We’re helping to put carers on the map, to show our appreciation for your expertise and to offer support for the challenges you face.
To support this year’s theme for Carers’ Week (10-16 June), our carer support team have put together an interactive map of local help for carers.
The map covers our patch of Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside and Glossop, and includes everything from support groups, charities, services, green spaces, and where to get information.
Olivia Ferrara, carer support worker with South Tameside community mental health team, created the map along with colleagues:
"As Tameside carer champions, we frequently discuss supporting unidentified carers. For Carers Week, we've created a map of carer support in Tameside and Glossop so carers - including those who may not identify as such - can access this information easily in their own time. We've since had lots of help from carer champions across all eight care hubs to turn this into a trust-wide tool."
We will be adding to this throughout the week and would love your suggestions.
