Photo collage.jpgThis week (9 to 11 May) we welcomed over 60 guests to our pre-opening events at Radcliffe Place.

Part of our service transformation programme, this is a new £1.2m hospital avoidance facility for people aged 16 to 25, across Greater Manchester, with a learning disability. Some may also have autism.

The first event included a few words from Anthony Hassall, our chief executive and Dr Dipti Patel, clinical director, learning disability care hub and interim network associate medical director – south.

We also welcomed two special guests, Andy Brown, who’s a member of several learning disability forums and sits on the on the Rochdale borough learning disability partnership board and Stephen Paul Ellis, a peer support worker and former service user who spent nine years in hospital. Stephen Paul said “I’m a passionate advocate for early support and have every faith that Pennine Care will deliver the right care. I’m really hoping to join the team as a peer support worker in the future.”

It's expected Radcliffe Place will open in the next few weeks.
