Remarkable rehab

Our community rehab team celebrated its first birthday with a special event for patients, carers, colleagues, and partners.

The team currently supports 25 people, with nine successfully discharged from our rehab units including 43-year-old Jamie. After seven and a half years as an inpatient, Jamie was discharged from Prospect Place last month and is doing well.

Chris Kean, social inclusion worker, said, “This was achieved through working with Jamie and the rehab unit team to understand his needs and goals and develop a package of community-based care. He’s settled into his new accommodation in Rochdale and his confidence and independence are growing. He’s already achieved many of his goals including joining a gym and getting involved in snooker and fishing.”

The team is also working hard to bring home people placed in out of area rehab placements.
