We're delighted to announce Tim McDougall has been appointed our new Director of Quality, Nursing and Healthcare Professionals.
Tim has been a registered mental health nurse for 27 years and has over 20 years’ experience in nurse leadership roles at a local, regional and national level.
He is currently Director of Nursing and Quality (Specialist Network) at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to this role, Tim was Associate Director of Nursing and Governance at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Tim lives in Bury, where we provide services, and has a national advisory role for the Care Quality Commission for child and adolescent mental health, as well as a significant academic research profile.
This appointment follows an extensive and competitive selection and interview process, which included a large internal stakeholder panel, as well as the formal interview panel.
The interview panel included a service user, the chief nursing officer at NHS Greater Manchester and chief nurse at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust - as well as our chief executive, chair, and deputy chair.
Clare Parker does not leave the role until the end of March 2024, which should enable us to have a smooth handover. We need to process the usual HR checks and confirm the exact start date, but we hope Tim will be able to join us in March.
Clare has been truly exceptional in the job, but we have appointed someone with strong values, professionalism and commitment, as well as the required skills and experience to pick up the baton in this important role.
