Hurst Place is a 15 bed step-down rehabilitation unit for men with severe mental illness and complex needs.
We support males, aged 18 to 65 years, who are detained under the Mental Health Act.
Our overall aim is to provide intensive rehabilitation based on a psychosocial recovery model.
Our rehabilitation programme focuses on individual recovery and social inclusion, to help you build the skills and resources you need to live as part of the community.
We aim to create a home environment, that provides safety and security, while you take part in your rehabilitation programme.
We welcome carer input into your recovery journey and also provide support through our carers' support group.
What we can help with
We can provide a programme of support to help if you've found it difficult to engage with mental health services, or if treatment hasn't helped previously.
If some of these apply to you then we may be able to help:
- You have a serious enduring mental illness
- You have a secondary history of substance misuse
- You have an index offence and are subject to a treatment and/or detention order by the Ministry of Justice.
- You require help to manage risk to yourself or others.
