All NHS staff and students also have free access to the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. This includes a wide range of books, journals and databases, plus NICE guidelines, BMJ Best Practice documents and more. Use the search bar at the bottom of the page to browse our available resources.
To access this resource, you will need an OpenAthens username and password. Register for OpenAthens for free.
Use of NHS libraries
If you work for Pennine Care, or if you're a student on placement with us, you can use any NHS library in Greater Manchester for borrowing books.
You can borrow books from other NHS libraries in the North West via the NoW LMS (North West Library Management System and catalogue). You will need to register and create an account to use this service.
Before visiting another NHS library, we recommend you contact the library you want to join before visiting to check what access and services are permitted.

You can also visit the NHS library and knowledge services website. This site includes links to websites which provide reliable health information, including advice on supporting a range of individuals during the coronavirus pandemic.
