We are looking forward to welcoming you for your face to face induction at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust headquarters. This guide has more information to support you ahead of the session.

The entrance is on the pedestrian side of the building, you can view street view by clicking the yellow person icon in the What3words link above or on Google maps.

There is a train station, bus station and tram stop near Ashton town centre, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust headquarters.

There are also local bus stops that stop closer.

Transport for Greater Manchester have a journey planner via the Bee network. Buses and trams on the Bee network operate a tap and go system, so all you need to do is tap your card or contactless device when using the network.

There are several options for parking close to trust headquarters.

On the other side of the building is a pay and display car park, located on Stamford Street West.

Pay and display parking is also available on the corner of Old Street and Cavendish Street, next to the Witchwood pub.

A full day of parking at both car parks currently costs £4.00. You can pay by cash or card. There are disabled spaces available.

When you arrive at reception the automatic doors should open to let you in. If not, please ring the intercom button and let the person answering know that you are here for the induction.

Walk inside and to the reception desk, where you will be asked to sign in.

Once you have signed in, you will be asked to wait in the waiting area before being shown to the innovation hub for the main session.

Our team on reception will direct you to the innovation hub, where the induction session will be held.

You will be shown through the double doors and then make your way to the first floor either via the lift or the stairs. The floor buttons on the inside of the lift are raised – please press button 1.

Once you are at the top of the stairs or have exited the lift on the first floor, turn left and go through the door. You will find the innovation hub on the right hand side of this corridor.

When you arrive you can choose a seat at one of the tables.

There will be a hearing loop in this room.

An evacuation chair is available on the stairway for those who would need to use this in an emergency.

There are toilets located on the ground floor when you arrive and on the first floor near the innovation hub. Both floors have male, female and accessible toilet options.

There will be breakout rooms available if you need any private time or space.

You will be able to come and go through reception if you require fresh air during the break times.

Timings

You should arrive by 9:15am for the session to start on time at 9:30am. The session will finish by 4:30pm.

There will be several short breaks throughout the day, with a longer break for lunch.

The agenda

The session will be hosted by a lead facilitator who works for Pennine Care. They will guide you through the agenda and introduce you to other facilitators and guest speakers throughout the day, including a guest speaker from the executive team.

The interactive session will cover all the things that you will need to know about working for Pennine Care, our big ambitions and values.

You will be in the innovation hub for most of the session and will be escorted to another room for your digital induction. Here you can collect your equipment and receive logins or access to any systems you need.

Who else is at the session

There will be up to 30 new starters attending each induction session and you will have an opportunity to get to know each other during the breaks and group discussions.

Tea, coffee and a light lunch will be provided. The lunch will consist of a selection of sandwiches,wraps, fruit, vegetables and crisps.

We recommend bringing snacks if you need them and a bottle for water with you.

You will be expected to interact with the other people on your table and get involved in informal activities throughout the day.

There is a smart casual dress code for the day. The room temperature may vary throughout the day. Windows may be open or closed, depending on the temperature of the room.

You don't have to make notes, but are welcome to bring a notepad and pen and/or a device for making notes.

If you require equipment for your role - such as a laptop or mobile phone - you will likely be issued this during the session.

We do not provide bags, so if you are expecting to collect equipment, please bring a bag with you. If you are unable to transport your equipment on the day, for example if there is too much and you are on public transport, then you can arrange another time to collect it from us.

A light lunch is provided, but you may wish to bring snacks. See the refreshments section for more info.
